Cherries! Wine! Gold!

We are happy to report our first Cherry U-Pick Season was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came to visit us in the orchard. Despite the unexpected May rain showers, we ended up with an abundant cherry crop. It was really fun tasting some new varieties for the very first time. We called our orchard the “Discovery Orchard” – we had all the traditional favorites such as Corals, Lapins, Rainiers, Black Pearls and Garnets – but we also had some brand new varieties that were absolutely terrific!
It was also exciting to see people’s reactions to our re-useable harvest bags. We gave every customer who picked at least a half bucket of cherries one of our green Orchard & Vine bags. We designed the bags to allow the cherries to breath better and last longer. The decision to provide our customers with re-useable bags was two-fold: to better sustain the fruit, as well as our environment. Please re-use your bags next year and we will reward you with a discount!
As quickly as time flies by, the 2020 cherry season will be here before we know it. We look forward to more beautiful fruit, our super fun tractor rides and greeting customers, both new and returnees!
We’ve also been busy selling wine from Nunn Family Vineyards. Every grape used in our wine is harvested from the majestic vineyards at our Orchard & Vine property. Colleagues encouraged us to enter a couple wine competitions and that has been a really fun experience. Every wine we’ve entered has received a medal. Most recently our Orchard & Vine Red Wine was awarded GOLD at the Central Coast Wine Competition!
